Honda Passport 2019, the new crossover arriving at the Los Angeles Auto Show
The Los Angeles Auto Show will be the stage for the unveiling of the new Honda Passport crossover, a mid-size proposal from the Japanese manufacturer

The crossover segment remains one of the most popular and continues to be fed by new proposals from various brands. The new crossover presented by Honda aims to sit between the Honda CR-V and the Honda Pilot, so we are looking at a mid-size compact that can offer plenty of excitement to drivers of this type of vehicle. The Honda Passport is designed to offer a more rugged and adventurous vehicle than the former, but also a more restrained and sporty size than the Pilot. A combination of on-road and off-road driving capabilities to enhance the driving experience.
The exterior look is enhanced by the black front grille, while the black plastic has a strong presence on the bodywork, an elevated driving position, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The LED headlights and a dual exhaust with chrome tips give the whole a different and sportier appearance. The interior has also been worked on to make it attractive, and upon entering, the driver will find a four-spoke steering wheel, as well as a 7-inch display with the gauges.

The infotainment system is controlled via a five-inch screen and features a six-speaker system to deliver good sound quality. Comfort is provided by tri-zone climate control, although all of this varies depending on the trim level selected. For example, those who opt for the Passport EX-L trim will enjoy heated seats, an 8-inch multimedia system screen, with compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also adds a rear-view camera to help with parking, along with other options that make it very appealing.

Honda Passport 2019
In terms of space, the Honda Passport offers 1,166 liters of boot space, although with the rear seats folded it can reach 2,205 liters, which can be increased further thanks to a 70.8-liter compartment located in the floor at the rear. The Honda Passport is built on the Global Light Truck platform, which it shares with the Honda Ridgeline and the Honda Pilot, so it shares many characteristics with them. Among these is a towing capacity of 2,268 kg.
The engine fitted to the Honda Passport is a 3.5-liter V6 producing 280 CV and a peak torque rated at 326 Nm, paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox that can be combined with all-wheel drive. It features traction settings that allow the driving characteristics to be adjusted for rain, snow and mud, improving its behavior when driving off-tarmac more efficiently than other crossovers on the market, according to the manufacturer.
