Hyundai announces the updated ix35 for the Geneva Motor Show

The South Korean brand does not want to go entirely unnoticed at the Swiss show and has taken the ix35 as the basis for its main novelty. It is true that Hyundai’s compact crossover was already due for the mid-cycle refresh. But since it has not aged more than other rivals, the changes it has received are minimal.
In fact, you have to look very closely to notice them. They are basically concentrated at the front, where the headlights receive daytime LED strips and integrate bi-xenon lamps to increase illumination. The interior does not change radically either, and Hyundai has limited itself to improving the quality of the materials and finishes.
Likewise, the cabin now features a brighter and sharper TFT screen. As for technology, the new ix35 benefits from the Flex Steer power steering system. This allows the driver to configure the handling in three modes: “Normal”, “Comfort” and “Sport”.
Finally, the engine line-up has important updates. The two-litre Theta II petrol engine has been replaced by the new Nu GDI of the same displacement. This unit was developed in and for Europe and produces more power than its predecessor without increasing consumption and emissions. Likewise, the “R” Diesel engine now features the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system called LP-EGR.
