Jaguar Land Rover delays the launch of its new generation of electric vehicles
Jaguar Land Rover wants to ensure that its products not only meet expectations, but also strengthen the prestige of the brand.
According to a recent report published in British media, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to postpone the launch of its new fully electric models by several months. This decision would also affect the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric. Initially, it had been announced that the first deliveries of this Premium SUV would take place at the end of 2025, but it has now been confirmed that customers will not be able to get behind the wheel of this vehicle until 2026 at the earliest. This delay also affects the plans of Jaguar, which is facing similar setbacks.
The Range Rover Electric is going to be the first fully electric vehicle developed and produced entirely by Land Rover, unlike the Jaguar I-Pace, whose production was outsourced to Magna Steyr in Austria. This new electric SUV will mark a before and after for the British manufacturer.

Apparently, the delay in its market launch is a consequence of the company deciding to extend the testing period to ensure that the vehicle meets the strict quality standards that characterize the brand. Customers who had already reserved the Range Rover Electric have been notified in writing about this update.
There is something else
However, everything points to an additional reason: the need for Land Rover to analyze how the electric vehicle market evolves before introducing new models. This cautious approach seeks to ensure that the new electric vehicles meet consumer expectations and adapt to industry trends.
For its part, Jaguar is also facing challenges in its transition toward an exclusively electric lineup. Last December, the British brand surprised everyone with a bold image overhaul that completely broke with its traditional heritage, accompanied by an advertising campaign that generated considerable controversy. The first model of the new era of Jaguar, provisionally known as “Type 00”, will finally begin rolling off the assembly line within a year, in the summer of 2026. A second model will follow in December 2027.

“Our vehicle plans and architectures are flexible, which allows us to adapt to the demands of the market and our customers. We are committed to the highest standards of design, capability and quality. We will launch our new models at the right time for our customers, our business and individual markets.”
