Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0, a functional test bench at the Easter Jeep Safari 2023

Only a few days ago we talked about all the models that will star at the Easter Jeep Safari 2023, the event where Jeep shows the models it proposes to demonstrate everything it can offer with them. But if there is one that has caught everyone’s attention, it has been the Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0, an electric model that revives the name of its two predecessors and takes it one step further.
The first thing the brand has said about this model is that it is not a car that will go into production. However, they have described it as the future toward which Jeep is heading. The third version of the Wrangler Magneto takes all the features presented by its predecessors and adds new elements to mark the path toward the brand’s electrification.

The new features of the Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0
The Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 has capacity for two occupants. Its electric motor output has been increased to 485 kW, equivalent to 650 CV, with a maximum torque of 1,220 Nm. This is a newly designed electric motor that makes the off-roader a very valid option.

It can be used in two ways, depending on the power required at each moment. The first option offers a power of 213 kWh, that is, 285 CV, and a maximum torque of 387 Nm. The second option allows you to enjoy full power on the stretches where it is needed. This powertrain is powered by the energy stored in the 70 kWh battery that equips the Wrangler Magneto 3.0.
Curiously, this concept model has a manual gearbox, making it a very unusual vehicle, since this type of gearbox is not usually found in electric vehicles. It also features regenerative braking, which allows the car to be driven with a single pedal in complicated traffic situations. It works together with hill descent mode to improve its usability.
Other unique features
As for other features added to this model, the opening of the doors stands out: it has been moved back 15 centimetres compared with a conventional Wrangler. The B-pillar has also been moved back 60 millimetres to join it to the roll bars. The windscreen has been tilted 12 degrees toward the cabin to give it a more aerodynamic look.
The bodywork wears the traditional Surf Blue and Bright White colour, with red decorative touches. On the bonnet there is a transparent cover that lets you see the electric powertrain. The interior is also upholstered in blue and has a fold-down canvas roof anchored to the windscreen. There are no plans for it to reach the market, but the brand will certainly offer interesting proposals for future commercial models.
