Kia launches a four-seat version of the Carnival Hi Limousine... luxury

The well-known MPV from the Korean brand becomes a luxury limousine with this four-seat version and comfortable seats in the rear.

In Asia, MPVs remain a vehicle worth considering. While SUVs are gaining ground in Europe and the Americas, in Asia this type of family vehicle remains a preference that continues to be useful for users. So much so that Kia launched in 2020 a version of the Carnival designed for transporting people in some luxury. It was called Carnival Hi Limousine and was intended to rival models such as the Mercedes Benz V-Class.

Now, ahead of 2022, the South Korean manufacturer wants to take a step further and has launched a version of this model for transporting people with just four seats, removing the two rows of rear seats. In their place, two “captain” Premium Relaxation seats have been fitted, in which passengers can travel very comfortably.

Luxury seats for passengers

These two seats come with all the luxuries you would find in a first-class airline seat, which is what they aim to emulate. Each seat has a personal tray for drinks or for working. But that is the most basic part.

Each seat has several electric adjustments, which can be controlled thanks to a 7-inch multimedia screen. From that same screen you can control everything from the air conditioning to the lighting, including a 21.5-inch television.

At the passengers’ feet there is a foot massager, so they can enjoy a relaxing massage. There is a small compartment for storing shoes so they don’t roll around the cabin. It also has a small fridge to keep drinks cold on board, so rear-seat occupants can travel in a very pleasant manner and with complete comfort.

This improved Kia Carnival Hi-Limousine aims to be a good alternative to much more expensive models, so its price sits well below that of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, an executive saloon for transporting dignitaries. Its price is set at 87 million South Korean won, which equals €64,186, a high amount for a van, but quite competitive for what this vehicle offers. For the time being, its market is limited to Asia, although it could reach the European market if there is demand.
