KTM X-Bow R, finally a reality

Perhaps it has taken a long time for KTM to finally announce the R version of its successful KTM X-Bow, a model first presented in 2007 that will now get more than a boost, especially after receiving the same engine currently fitted to the Audi S3.
As you well know, the famous 2.0 TFSI has been used, one of the engines most widely employed by the German brand with the four rings, but for this unique KTM version it has been modified; specifically, the turbo and the engine control unit have been upgraded to homologate a staggering 300 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque

Naturally, with figures like these, proper tuning and an engineering effort that has decided to position the engine much closer to the ground, specifically 20 mm lower, in pursuit of a substantial increase in torsional rigidity, allowing lateral forces of just over 1.5G.
Genuinely interesting data, especially when the brand tells us that, as standard, this new KTM X-Bow R features a rear diffuser made from a carbon and aluminium alloy, adjustable pedals, a mechanical limited-slip differential, adjustable suspension, 4-point safety belts, special trim, and an adjustable and removable multifunction steering wheel…

Now, if you want to turn your KTM X-Bow R into a much more radical beast, you shouldn’t even consider whether or not to install the new packages designed to improve both performance and the safety and dynamics of your new R.
These new packages are called Road Package, a new sports package in which, for 7,690 euros, you get new carbon-fibre parts such as a new front splitter and two spoilers over the front bonnet, as well as an adjustable rear wing or shock absorbers 6 mm shorter that can be adjusted up to 23 mm.

On the other hand, we have the Track Package, a new package clearly focused on using the X-Bow R on the track, which, apart from the aerodynamic improvements included in the Road Package, for just 14,990 euros also includes a steel chassis designed to further increase the vehicle’s structural rigidity, sports suspension lowered 20 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear, a water pump and cooled transmission, or Toyo Proxes 888 tyres.
If you are interested in the new X-Bow R, just know that it will reach the market in the coming weeks at a price of 58,795 euros, a price that includes neither taxes, nor registration, let alone import costs.
