Lamborghini Squadra Corse unveils its second one-off, the SC20, a speedster that draws on the design of other models from the brand and produces 770 CV

Lamborghini Squadra Corse is celebrating the unveiling of its second one-off, what has become the creation of a single, exclusive model for the whole world, developed in collaboration with the Motorsport department and the Centro Stile design centre in Sant’Agata Bolognese, which have followed the guidelines and requirements of the lucky owner who will have the Lamborghini SC20, a speedster or barchetta in their garage, in which the windscreen and roof are eliminated.

Two years after the presentation of the Lamborghini SC18 Alston, the letters “SC” are back in the spotlight with the new SC20, a model that has undoubtedly been a real design challenge for Lamborghini compared with the SC18, because the SC20 incorporates aerodynamic solutions taken from the brand’s competition models, which have in turn been included in a design inspired by the lines of models such as the Diablo VT Roadster, the Concept S, the Veneno Roadster and, as might be expected, the Lamborghini Aventador J, among others.

In this way, the exclusive Lamborghini SC20 comes with a carbon-fibre body that has been polished and smoothed by hand by the technicians of the Italian marque, so that the airflow can be directed far more efficiently, providing as comfortable a drive as possible even at high speeds, bearing in mind that this model does not use a front windscreen. Various aerodynamic elements have also been fitted to this body, such as the front splitter positioned between two fins, or the bonnet air intakes inspired by those of the Huracan GT3 EVO, along with the beautifully sculpted flanks that bring the solutions adopted on the Essenza SCV12. At the rear, the view is dominated by a discreet yet elaborate rear spoiler adjustable in three positions and the rear diffuser.

Speaking of colours, the bodywork of the Lamborghini SC20 is finished in Bianco Fu, a colour created exclusively for this occasion, combined with exposed carbon-fibre parts and details in Blu Cepheus. This last shade is also present inside, where it is combined with Nero Cosmus and Bianco Leda, although the real star remains the carbon fibre found on the dashboard, door panels, rear compartment, centre console and, logically, the visible parts of the monocoque. It is also used for the seats, but there it is combined with Alcantara upholstery, while other elements such as the door handles are machined aluminium in a single piece and the air outlets have been manufactured using 3D technology.

Under the bonnet of the Lamborghini SC20 sits an old acquaintance from Sant’Agata, the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, which delivers 770 CV together with 720 Nm of torque. It works with a 7-speed ISR gearbox (Independent Shifting Rod) that sends power to all four wheels and includes an electronic centre differential. Contact with the road is made through Pirelli PZero Corsa tyres mounted on 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.
