Lamborghini Sesto Elemento: the final version will cost 1.6 million euros
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento was unveiled in its final version at Pebble Beach, at a price of 1.6 million at the current exchange rate.

Amid so much crisis and economic trouble, one wonders how it is possible for a car’s bonnet to carry 1.6 million euros. We are talking about the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, which has finally completed a development stage of nearly two years, during which we have seen earlier limited editions, rumours and fanciful stories told about this sports car from the bull’s house.
In the end, they have decided to produce it in a short run for all those fortunate enough to have 1.6 million to spare. Figures of 2 million were even mentioned, and others reached 2.5 million euros, but either way it was clear that the price of the Sesto Elemento would place it firmly among the anecdotes and curiosities of motoring for the average mortal.
If you had the money to buy it, would it be worth it? Think about it: what you pay for here is the brand, a machine whose full potential could only be exploited on a track, with a top speed of almost 400 km/h and 570 CV, and plenty of cutting-edge technology in its use of carbon fibre, given the large number of components made from that material.
We can make a rough calculation and say that of the 20 models to be produced, only half will be regularly used on the streets (the rest will be kept wrapped in cotton wool to be sold in a few years’ time). That leaves 10 cars that would be driven regularly, and of those, how many will ever take a corner on a track? Perhaps half, or even fewer; it is not a matter of risking the investment too much.
