Lego unveils its own custom McLaren Senna kit

The McLaren Senna by Lego brings a little more happiness to those of us who couldn’t get our hands on one of the just 500 units built of the actual McLaren Senna. The new Lego kit for the McLaren Senna is the perfect excuse to combine several hobbies and bring together young and old around a table to assemble a scale replica of the real thing.

With the 300 hours it takes to bring each McLaren Senna to life on the production line as a reference, the time well spent building the Lego kit will depend on the skill and intention of whoever enjoys putting it together, feeling as close as possible to a Woking worker, but in their favourite room.

A faithful replica of the McLaren Senna with its own character

The design and aerodynamic elements make the McLaren Senna the most effective vehicle, in terms of air resistance, that the company has ever built. A task that inspires Lego’s specialists to adapt, with their own pieces, even the smallest detail of their own McLaren Senna.

In the following video you can see how members of the design teams of both brands share and admire the best qualities of each of their McLaren Sennas.

What the Lego McLaren Senna doesn’t have is the powerful V8 twin-turbo engine producing 800 CV that its real-life counterpart does. So we doubt this Lego kit can also post a 0-100 time of 2.8 seconds or, at the very least, move on its own like the spectacular Bugatti Chiron by Lego that reached a top speed of around 20 km/h.

A McLaren Senna within reach of many

Lego and McLaren have once again joined forces to create a new kit for the McLaren Senna, priced at 12.99 pounds (at today’s exchange rate, roughly 14.70 euros) and featuring 219 pieces. This new scale replica joins other Lego productions such as the Speed Champions McLaren and the McLaren 720S replica, which sold out very quickly once they went on sale.

This Lego McLaren Senna build joins others such as the one we previously featured, by Amalgam Collection. A pre-assembled scale car, a 1:8 scale reproduction of the McLaren Senna. A miniature Senna that isn’t affordable for everyone due to its price: more than 7,000 euros. Although that may seem steep, it is a justifiable amount given the level of realism this miniature offers.
