SUVs have been present in our market for years, but the way these vehicles are used has evolved gradually. Today we have brands that have given a sporty approach to their most rugged off-roaders, and the result is genuinely impressive. Mercedes, one of the longest-established names in the 4×4 world, brings us the prices of one of its most radical creations to date, the GLC 63 AMG 4MATIC+ and GLC 63 S AMG 4MATIC+.

The star brand brings us the two most powerful versions of its latest SUV, which directly inherits the concept of the much-missed ML 55 AMG. The GLC 63 AMG is based on the Mercedes C-Class and shares its mechanicals. The GLC aims to offer the best possible balance between comfort, versatility and sportiness. The end result is an SUV with many of the traits of its saloon variant, but with a design that sets it apart from the rest of the brands.

The GLC is also offered as a coupé, which adopts a longer, more streamlined shape and a finer look. The standard GLC has a more traditional and compact design, but the technical specifications are the same on both vehicles. As for the mechanicals of the GLC 63 AMG and GLC 63 S AMG, they are inherited directly from their bigger brother, the AMG GT. At the heart of the GLC is a twin-turbo V8 that produces two power outputs, which vary depending on the version chosen. The GLC 63 delivers 476 CV and its S variant 510 CV. The German manufacturer aims to offer different options for all its customers.

These figures allow the GLC 63 S AMG to reach 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds, making it one of the fastest SUVs on the market. To contribute to the GLC’s stability, it features a four-wheel drive system called 4MATIC+, which distributes the twin-turbo V8’s power between both axles. To improve the German SUV’s handling, it comes with a nine-speed automatic gearbox with dual clutch, making gear changes practically instantaneous.

Mercedes has revealed the prices of the GLC 63 AMG and all its variants. The most affordable version starts at 109,625 euros and goes up to 122,825 euros for the 63 S Coupé. These figures put Mercedes’s SUV in competition with other vehicles in the segment, such as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Verde and the Porsche Macan Turbo. The GLC 63 AMG arrives in strong form, intent on unseating its most direct rivals.
