MICHELIN Connected Fleet: the best solution for fleet management
Connected vehicle technology and the added value of our experts make MICHELIN Connected Fleet the best tool for transport professionals.

In Spain, road freight transport accounts for 95% of the total compared with other modes, a much higher share than the rest of the EU, where it reaches 77%. We are the fourth country that moves the most tonnes of goods by road, led by Germany, France and the United Kingdom. And we rank second in the number of light commercial vehicles, with 4.5 million, behind France. Including trailers, there are one million trucks in operation.
The sector, which includes more than 100,000 companies, faces challenges such as high costs, operational difficulties, a lack of delivery security and low profit margins.
Michelin’s solution: technology and advisory services for fleet management
Michelin is already one of the leading companies offering fleet management solutions worldwide. To this end, since 2016 it has based its strategy on acquiring fleet management companies such as Sascar, NexTraq and Masternaut. Michelin has 70,000 customers and more than one million vehicles under fleet management contracts around the world.

In Europe, Michelin has launched a new proposal that brings together a broad offering allowing customers to select the right option for their specific needs: MICHELIN Connected Fleet powered by Masternaut. More than 10,000 customers and 250,000 vehicles already rely on MICHELIN Connected Fleet. Of these, 2,000 connected vehicles are in Spain and Portugal, with plans to reach 10,000 by 2025.
Michelin’s differentiating factor is the analysis of the data that can be collected thanks to the technology and the interpretation of that data to turn it into useful information that allows hauliers to increase productivity, improve safety for the driver, the vehicle and the cargo, and optimise every phase of the service.

To this end, MICHELIN Connected Fleet has 50 account managers providing customer support across Europe, with a physical presence in 13 countries. For the Iberian Peninsula alone there is a dedicated team currently made up of 6 fleet management experts.
How MICHELIN Connected Fleet by Masternaut works
This team of experts is the differentiating value that Michelin highlights against other competitors: personalised contact from day one, comprehensive management of the installation, continuous support (including on public holidays and weekends) and breakdown assistance.
Analysing all the data collected through connected vehicle technology makes it possible to implement solutions that reduce fuel consumption and optimise processes through efficient route planning based on, for example, vehicle location, load capacity at any given moment, schedule control and the ability to react to unforeseen events.

The connection technology is available for all types of vehicles, from light commercial vehicle fleets to heavy trucks, trailers, buses and vehicles for industry and construction. Among the data collected by the different sensors installed in the vehicle are those monitoring tyre pressure and temperature, driving data (revs, speed, consumption), EBS data (trailer weight, alert diagnostics) and sensors detecting the coupling and uncoupling of trailers to the tractor unit.
The services and advantages of MICHELIN Connected Fleet
Michelin’s fleet management solutions are grouped into service packages for trucks, trailers or light vehicles, divided into “Plus” or “Premium” options. As an example, the price can range from 26 euros per vehicle for a basic service for tractor units up to 36 euros if the most complete option is included, with tracking, management and route planning.

Among the solutions these packages include are the management platform for real-time trip tracking, the mobility data platform with reports that support decisions for improvement, and driver training and management.
Direct customer support services include personalised contact from day one, comprehensive installation management with initial setup and training, monthly visits from an expert to analyse data and propose improvement plans, and on-site breakdown assistance.
