MINI and the Vagabund studio present two one-off Countryman units with unique elements

MINI x Vagabund is the result of the partnership between the English brand and the Austrian design studio, through two Countryman units as models

Mini X Vagabund (22)

Vagabund is an Austrian design studio dedicated to customising cars but especially motorcycles, which on this occasion has teamed up with MINI to create two unique units of the Countryman that seek to capture the spirit of adventure, the community culture and the lifestyle, while also reinterpreting the design and customisation of the iconic English model.

To begin with this customisation, let’s look at the bodywork: on one of them it has been painted in Melting Silver, combined with contrasting details in sand and white tones. The other MINI x Vagabund model makes a far more striking visual impact, as it has been painted in Midnight Black, a colour deliberately applied to every exterior element of the Countryman, drawing considerable attention.

Apart from all this, the styling of both MINI x Vagabund units has been modified compared with a standard Countryman. Examples include the wheel arches, which have been redesigned and enlarged, giving the car a much wider and more imposing look. So that the wheel arches integrate with the rest of the ensemble, the front bumper has also been modified, which has led to a new grille design, and the same applies to the rear.

From the sides we can see that their off-road capability is enhanced thanks to the greater ride height they have been given, along with new 20-inch wheels fitted with 3D-printed wheel covers. Not forgetting that the Vagabund logo appears on the door sills as a three-dimensional element. A little higher up, on the roof, the roof rack is made of three laser-cut and folded aluminium plates, plus an integrated stainless steel mesh forming an open surface, a structure intended to evoke the design language of speaker covers.

Speaking of speakers, the side windows have been replaced by a sound system specially designed to project sound outdoors, with a newly developed speaker housing made of moulded polymer granite as the central element. The tweeters and midrange speakers are integrated directly into the bodywork, while additional subwoofers are located at the rear and become visible when the boot is opened.
