Mopar takes two exclusive builds of the Ram 1500 to the SEMA

FCA Group has also been present at the SEMA Show with several builds, including two Mopar antagonists based on the Ram 1500

If there’s one thing we’ve always envied about the United States, it’s their enormous pick-up trucks, with oversized shapes and engines that European governments consider madness, although it must also be said that emissions aside, “quenching their thirst” would not be within everyone’s reach. If we take one of these pick-up impressions, the Ram 1500, and bring it to SEMA, the most important customization and accessories show, you could say we have the perfect combination.

The Ram 1500 belongs to the FCA Group through its Ram Trucks brand, although you may previously have known it better as the Dodge RAM, so as you can imagine, if this pick-up is presented at the SEMA it will go hand in hand with Mopar, the division responsible for spicing up FCA Group vehicles with accessories and builds. Called Ram 1500 Rebel Concept and Big Horn “Low Down” Concept, both serve to show potential customers the capability of Mopar parts to create major customizations with very little imagination.

Ram 1500 Rebel Concept

The Ram 1500 has more than 200 accessories available thanks to Mopar, and in the Rebel Concept version all those that provide greater off-road capability have been put on the table, something many of its owners undoubtedly seek. The customization of the Rebel Concept begins with the body color chosen, to which a custom neutral blue color has been applied, named “Rebel Smoke”.

On the exterior we continue with a lift kit that will allow the Ram 1500 to tackle the narrowest trails, although because of this, black aluminum side steps have been installed to allow easier entry and exit from the cabin. And to have a pick-up suited to unpaved roads, 18-inch wheels painted in the same body color are essential, fitted with 35-inch GoodYear DuraTrack tires.

The exterior upgrades continue with aluminum underbody protection in gray, which clearly stands out against the rest of the body. This gray has also been applied to the decals installed on the new hood, beneath which sits the 5,700 cc HEMI engine, which now features an air intake created exclusively for this model and this engine.

To finish the exterior upgrades we now turn to the rear, where a mount has been installed in the bed for five 5-inch LED lights that together illuminate up to 4,800 lumens each, and a mount for the spare wheel and a step to climb up more easily have also been fitted to the bed. The exterior build is rounded off with five-inch exhaust tips in satin black.

Inside the upgrades may not be as numerous, but they are there, starting with a black tone throughout the interior, followed by new special floor mats for tougher use, brushed and polished aluminum door sill protectors bearing the legend Ram, a wireless smartphone charging device, and a custom pedal kit.

Ram 1500 Big Horn “Low Down” Concept

If the previous build was aimed at owners who wanted the Ram 1500 for off-road use, the Big Horn “Low Down” Concept is aimed at those who prefer asphalt, with a more striking look for the city. This look comes first from the two-tone paint chosen for the body: the upper half is painted Gloss Black, while the lower half is painted in Billet Silver, although all the lower areas are again finished in Gloss Black.

Unlike the Rebel Concept, the Big Horn has a lowering kit that gives it a more aggressive stance, which consequently means side steps are not used. New 22-inch wheels in Gloss Black have also been fitted, while the bed cover stands out greatly in glossy black. The exterior build is completed with exhaust tips also in glossy black and the hood with an air intake for the HEMI 5.7 engine.

Inside the upgrades are not substantial, although all-weather floor mats have been installed, along with brushed and polished aluminum door sill protectors and a pedal kit in a glossy finish.
