New 2015 range of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport

Last month, Land Rover made official the latest update to the Discovery range before retiring this generation of the model. Now it is the turn of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, which are also being updated with improvements to the SDV8 engine, new optional elements to personalise the vehicle, and greater technological equipment.
Starting with the exterior, the Range Rover’s colour palette adds two new shades called Aruba Silver (also available on the new 2015 Range Rover Sport) and Kaikoura Stone. Two new styles of 19-inch alloy wheels are added to the Range Rover’s optional equipment: one painted in satin dark grey, and 22-inch wheels. Both models also incorporate integrated lights in the wing mirrors that project onto the ground to indicate the vehicle’s position in the dark.

In the cabin, the Range Rover features a new system called Cargo Mode, which slides the front seats forward when it detects that the rear seats are being folded down, increasing the load space volume. Once the rear seats have been fully folded, the system returns the front seats to their original position.
Both the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport can be fitted with a new fixed panoramic roof with electric blinds, and on the Sport it is possible to paint the interior door frames in body colour or in black.

The SDV8 engine, producing 339 CV, has been recalibrated to increase maximum torque by 40 Nm to 740 Nm, available between 1,700 and 3,300 rpm. In addition, a new torque converter has been installed in the automatic gearbox which, together with the extra torque from the engine, delivers greater acceleration between fifth and eighth gears.
Both Range Rover models now come as standard with the InControl Remote systems, featuring integrated emergency call and roadside assistance functions, plus a smartphone app for remotely connecting to the vehicle, and InControl Secure, which allows the car’s position to be tracked in case of theft.
Other equipment updates include the InControl Apps technology, which lets you use various smartphone apps running iOS or Android on the car’s touchscreen, and InControl Wi-Fi, which creates a wireless connection to which up to eight devices can connect simultaneously.
