New Audi R8 2019: the supercar will not offer a V6 engine
Audi announced that the new R8 would have a V6 version, but in the end that will not happen, so the German supercar will continue to offer only the current V10 engine.
Not long ago, Audi announced the arrival of a new Audi R8 with a V6 engine, a version that would reach the market at the end of this year. Well, it seems that the manufacturer has changed its mind… The Audi R8 Project Manager, Bjorn Friedrich, has confirmed that the next Audi R8 will only be offered with the current V10 engine, as he states it is “the best engine for this supercar”, and therefore, “they will continue to build it exclusively”.
Audi R8 V6: this is how the supercar’s new engine was going to be

The supposed Audi R8 V6 would incorporate the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo engine offered by the Audi RS4 and RS5. In those models, the powerplant produces 450 CV of power and 600 Nm of torque, allowing them to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4 seconds. However, Friedrich has already confirmed that this engine will not go into production.
What improvements will the 2019 Audi R8 bring?
That said, the 2019 Audi R8 will indeed be presented next year with new suspension, an optimised stability control, improved power steering (with optional dynamic steering) and a more aggressive design.

V10 engine with better performance
The next Audi R8 will feature the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine as the current one, except that in the new version performance will be improved: 570 CV of power (30 CV more than before) and 550 Nm of torque (10 Nm more than its predecessor). Thanks to these improvements, the car will be able to reach 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Its top speed will be 324 km/h.

The fastest Performance version ever
For its part, the Performance version of the next Audi R8 will offer a performance improvement of 10 CV and 20 Nm over the current model, reaching 620 CV and 580 Nm. This version will be able to reach 331 km/h and will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds.
