New BMW Series 7, comfort and luxury to the power of ten
The new generation of the BMW Series 7 has arrived full of surprises, including a fully electric version.

The Bavarian brand has unveiled the new and long-awaited generation of one of its most impressive vehicles. We are talking about the BMW Series 7, which at first glance stands out with its already controversial grille and split light clusters, which we recently saw on the BMW X7. It is worth noting that the Series 7 comes with the first electric version: the BMW i7 xDrive60 and a 31-inch rear screen.
The BMW Series 7 is now 41 CV more powerful than its previous generation; specifically, the BMW 740i is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, capable of developing a combined output of 380 CV and a maximum torque of 540 Nm. The next step up in the range is the BMW 760i xDrive. This model has four-wheel drive and a mild-hybrid V8 engine with 543 CV and 750 Nm of maximum torque.
The new flagship of the range will be the BMW i7 xDrive60, which features two electric motors to deliver a combined output of 543 CV and a maximum torque of 744 Nm.

Everything we know about the new BMW Series 7
The BMW Series 7 has grown in length by 126 mm, reaching 5.40 metres. The wheelbase is 3.2 metres, which is 5 mm more than the previous generation. Following the lead of the BMW X7, the new Series 7 has large kidney grilles dominating the front, with DRL light units. The main light units are hidden in a recess beneath the bumper.
The door handles are now flush with the bodywork, and the C-pillar draws attention to the German brand’s Hofmeister kink. In addition, through BMW Individual, a two-tone paint finish can be chosen for the impressive Bavarian saloon. If you are looking for extra sportiness, you can opt for the M Sport or M Sport Professional package, which adds M Sport brakes with blue or black calipers, a spoiler and a Shadowline treatment.
The Series 7 can be locked and unlocked via smartphone, but one of its most notable features is the curved digital display, combined with a digital instrument cluster and an information and entertainment system with a touchscreen and iDrive8 software. The saloon has 5G.
The gear selector is smaller and has been redesigned for the automatic transmission on the centre console, something we have seen on the X7, but what we have not seen before is the interaction bar, a touch-sensitive strip running across the dashboard that provides ambient lighting while also containing virtual buttons for many of the car’s functions.

But for many Series 7 owners, what really matters is what happens in the rear seats rather than the front ones. The extension of the voice assistant coverage to the rear cabin puts the Series 7 in line with its rivals, but the big news here is the availability of an optional 31-inch cinema screen suspended from the ceiling. When passengers activate theatre mode, the rear of the car turns into a private cinema: the 4K screen equipped with Amazon Fire lowers, the sunshades rise, and the seat angle and interior lighting adjust to help you lose yourself in the film.
The rear seats also get digital switch modules Touch Command on the doors that look like mini smartphones and allow them to operate various functions, including making calls that can be heard through the optional headrest speakers.
A saloon with every luxury detail

The German saloon comes as standard with air suspension, adaptive dampers, a steering system that can reduce the turning circle, a roll-over protection package and a system that allows the saloon to drive autonomously at speeds of up to 130 km/h when the model is equipped with the Professional Driver Assistance package.
