New engine for the Peugeot 4007

Peugeot launches a new engine for the 4007: this will be a 2.2 HDi FAP that delivers 156 CV of power, with a maximum torque of 380 Nm. In addition, it will be fitted with a dual-clutch robotised gearbox with six ratios that reduces the shift time between gears.
The 4007 uses cutting-edge technology in its new gearbox, the Dual Clutch System (DCS), which consists of two clutches transmitting engine torque. The first clutch engages the even gears, while the second takes care of the odd gears.

The 6-speed DCS gearbox can be operated in two different ways: on the one hand, in automatic mode with two driving programmes, Drive and Sport, or in sequential mode using the gear selection paddles behind the steering wheel. It also features a hill adaptation programme which, depending on the gradient of the road, delivers more or less engine torque. Likewise, the car is equipped with a hill start assist system that holds the vehicle braked for about two seconds in order to make it easier to move from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
All of this means that its combined consumption is 7.3 l/100 km, while CO2 emissions stand at 192 g/km. Its exterior stands out for its chrome double exhaust outlet. As for sales, it will be available on the Spanish market once the Frankfurt Motor Show has ended.
