Mercedes SLK Convertibles Range / versions
New engines and more equipment for the Mercedes-Benz SLK

Mercedes-Benz has announced an improvement program for its smallest roadster, the compact SLK. The SLK, which is now in its third generation, is halfway through its commercial life since its launch in 2012.
Now it receives a boost from the brand thanks to the incorporation of more modern engines and more extensive standard equipment.
The SLK, which will drop this name in its next generation to become the SLC, improves its engine range, thanks to the incorporation of a more advanced 2.0 Turbo unit. In this way, the current SLK 200 goes from 184 CV and 270 NM to 184 CV -the power does not change- and 300 NM, improving maximum torque by 30 NM. It also receives a 6-speed manual gearbox with a new tuning that, according to the brand, is more precise and faster in its handling.
In addition, the current SLK 250 is removed from the range to be replaced by the SLK 300. The latter arrives with 245 CV and 370 NM, figures that are more than consistent for the small German roadster, becoming a very reasonable alternative to the SLK 350, which already mounts the heavy and complex naturally aspirated 3.5 V6.

Apart from the improvements in the engine section, the brand has announced that the SLK’s equipment will be strengthened with the addition of elements that will become standard, such as daytime running lights with LED technology or an improved entertainment system. The active safety systems are expanded, and it is now possible to equip the small SLK with systems such as Adaptive Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist or Blind Spot Assist, among others.
The SLK range is then structured with four petrol options (SLK 200, SLK 300, SLK 350 and SLK 55 AMG) with power outputs between 184 and 421 CV, as well as a diesel option called the SLK 250 CDI, with 204 CV and 500 NM.
