New Renault Mégane E-Tech: more range, a simplified line-up and more technology

The main evolution is found under the floor. Renault replaces the previous battery offer with a single 67 kWh LFP battery paired exclusively with the 220 CV electric motor. This new configuration makes it possible to homologate a range of up to 500 kilometres, while also simplifying the commercial offer.

Functional improvements

The charging system also evolves. As standard it features an 11 kW alternating current charger, although it can optionally be equipped with a 22 kW one, a feature that is uncommon among electric cars in its segment and especially useful at urban charging points. On direct current it accepts up to 165 kW and maintains that power for approximately 50 % of the charging process, reducing the time needed to recover range on long journeys.

It also includes bidirectional charging (V2L and V2G, depending on markets and infrastructure), allowing electrical devices to be powered or energy to be returned to the grid when conditions allow (a specific charger with AC/DC converters is required, which the brand will put on sale next year). In addition, there is a heat pump as standard that improves energy efficiency and helps preserve range in adverse weather conditions.

More technology

In terms of technology, Renault incorporates a new driving mode, Smart Mode, with predictive driving, which adapts the engine’s characteristics to driving needs and saves up to 6 percent of energy. Driver Assist systems, a 360-degree peripheral vision camera and a Harman Kardon sound system are also new.

The digital ecosystem evolves with the new MyRNLT app, which will gradually replace the previous one; the latter will remain operational until 2028 to make the transition easier for users.

The multimedia system keeps its integration with Google Automotive and adds new functions based on Google Gemini. In addition, Google Maps receives automatic updates every two weeks, improving route planning and information about charging points.

Refreshed look

Externally, the changes seek to reinforce its dynamic character through new wheel designs and a range of seven colours for the bodywork. The offer is structured into just two trim levels, Techno and Sprit Alpine, simplifying the configuration of the model.

Renault focuses on optimising the aspects that electric vehicle users value most —range, charging speed, connectivity and efficiency— without modifying the vehicle’s architecture (chassis, steering and handling), which since its launch in 2022 has established itself as one of the pillars of Renault’s electric strategy.
