Subaru unveiled the new XV a few weeks ago, and it features considerable improvements. The new Japanese 4×4 will be available from 199 euros per month.

Today’s SUVs are increasingly giving up their off-road capabilities off-road and opting for comfort, luxury and interior space. This makes them very versatile and comfortable vehicles but, even so, certain brands still offer genuine 4x4s. Especially in the case of Subaru and its new XV, a vehicle that shows a strong commitment to adventure while also offering comfort. But that’s not all: the new Japanese SUV is available at a truly attractive price.

A few weeks ago, the Highmotor test team had the chance to take the wheel of the XV and get to know the renewed 4×4 in depth. This new Subaru features considerable improvements over the previous model, both inside and out, and the brand has made sure to keep its effective all-wheel-drive system intact.

Aesthetically, we can see a structure similar to that of the previous generation, but it incorporates a new lighting cluster that gives it a younger and more modern look. The bumpers have also received a series of changes: they still give the XV a robust, imposing touch but, at the same time, they feature elements that make it much more elegant, thanks to smoother lines.

The interior still reflects the design philosophy of Subaru and offers a considerable technological upgrade, but keeps a sober, understated design that doesn’t show off. However, the cabin’s quality has improved considerably and it incorporates the latest infotainment system. This gives the XV a perfect blend of quality and discretion that few vehicles offer today.

Furthermore, it also features a new range of engines, which complement the on-board experience of the Japanese SUV. For now, the XV offers just two powertrain options, both petrol and, as is tradition, naturally aspirated. The entry-level engine in the 4×4 is a 1.6 Boxer producing 114 CV. For customers who need more power, the 2.0 -also a Boxer- delivers 156 CV.

The XV offers a perfect balance of design, capability, technology and mechanics. Even so, Subaru has wanted to improve it with its pricing. The Japanese brand offers the XV from just 199 euros per month and, for customers not interested in this payment option, it can be had from 21,900 euros, rising to 28,200 euros for the top-of-the-range version.
