Nissan Global Time Attack TT 370Z, the last unicorn

The Nissan Global Time Attack TT 370Z is the culmination of the story of a car that oozes a passion for sporty driving

There are cars that, sooner or later, become part of the “Cars We Dreamed Of” collectible card albums, and the Nissan 370Z does, even more so in its Nismo configuration, but even more so like this Nissan Global Time Attack TT 370Z is the summum for those of us who want to have one of the best affordable sports cars of recent times on the altars of fun.

In this case, from the most important tuning show in the world, the Sema Show, comes the latest unicorn, an extreme version of the Nissan 370Z built by Nismo in collaboration with Z1 Motorsport, a specialist tuner that has managed to create a monster with 750 CV of power.

A potential drawn from the DOHC engine block, a 6-cylinder V configuration, with a 3.7-litre displacement completely rebuilt and modified for the occasion, with specific intake, injection designed by Z1, supported by a turbo manufactured by Garrett (GTX 3076), which sends all its power, through a 6-speed sequential gearbox and a Nismo GT-R Pro differential, to the rear wheels, and which is managed as a whole by electronics specially programmed for this monster.

Other elements equipping this Nissan 370Z Time Attack TT, specially prepared for competition, include the Nismo radiator and a high-performance cooling system, the braking system signed by Brembo, and Volk wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan AO52 tyres.

The bodywork on which the whole package has been installed was stripped of all paint and removable panels, and the chassis was reworked independently, installing, for example, a cage that provides greater structural rigidity and a higher degree of occupant protection.

In addition, a specific aerodynamic package has been fitted, with front and rear bumpers with lower diffusers and a rear spoiler, deflectors and side air intakes, among others.

Once the bodywork and chassis were ready, some unnecessary elements in the cabin were removed and replaced with others made from lightweight materials such as carbon fibre, present in, for example, the OMP HRC-R Carbon Air seat, which features a 6-point harness made by Sabelt, a quick-release steering wheel, or the Tilton hydraulic pedal box.

To add a touch more racing character, a screen behind the steering wheel has been incorporated, with up to 12 different configurations that provide whatever information the driver wants from this crazy car, which will compete in the 2020 season of the Global Time Attack, thus ending the car’s promotion as its successor is presented next year.
