Nissan presents its roadmap with the arrival of three electric models and well-known names: Micra and LEAF
Nissan announces its electric path with the return of the Micra and LEAF to its line-up, plus the electric Juke and the update to the e-Power hybrid system

The year 2025 will be very important for Nissan in Europe with the launch of two fully electric models, both focused mainly on the urban sphere and which will sound familiar, as we will see below, not only by name but also by concept. Later, specifically in 2026, another pure electric model will join these two, which is also an old acquaintance in the Japanese brand’s line-up.
Nissan Micra and Nissan LEAF
It may feel a little distant, but you may remember that in autumn 2023 Nissan presented its Concept 20-23 prototype, a small and very striking electric sports car designed by the Nissan Design Europe studio based in London to mark its 20th anniversary. Well, having said that, as you know Nissan and Renault have been part of an alliance for years, so now take the new Renault 5 E-Tech and put it in a cocktail shaker together with the Concept 20-23.

That’s right, the result you see in the image is the new and future Nissan Micra, the first of these three fully electric models that Nissan will launch. Unfortunately its styling will not be as radical as the Concept 20-23, but as you can see it shares the main features, all with a generous dose of the R5 E-Tech in the background, since it uses the same AmpR Small platform and will also be available with 40 and 52 kWh batteries, with outputs ranging from 95 CV to 150 CV and ranges from 300 kilometres up to 410 kilometres on the WLTP combined cycle.
If the return of the Micra name is a pleasant surprise, it does not end there, as it continues with the return of the LEAF to Nissan’s line-up. Yes, that urban electric car which, when it launched in 2010, we saw as a rara avis, becoming the pioneer of zero-emission mobility, and which eventually disappeared from Europe. Now it returns and, just as when it launched in 2010, it will be a very Nissan product.

I say this last point because, unlike the new Micra, which is shared in most of its key points with Renault, the new LEAF has been created using the CMF-EV platform of Nissan, thus sharing its architecture with another model from the company, such as the Ariya. Its design departs from any other Nissan model, and it will be built for Europe in Europe, specifically in the modern facilities that Nissan has in Sunderland, in north-east England.
Nissan electric Juke and e-Power system update

The third of the electric models that Nissan will launch will be produced in 2026 and is the third generation of the Juke, a generation that will draw on the bold design of the Hyper Punk, a prototype that Nissan presented at the Japan Mobility Show held in late October 2023. We do not have an image of the Juke yet, but you can make it out on the left of the upper image, with a totally recognisable and striking silhouette, just like its two previous generations.
Finally, Nissan confirms that it will continue developing and updating its e-Power hybrid technology, launched in 2022. The arrival of this update for the e-Power system will take place this same year, and the Qashqai will be the one to receive it. Although we do not yet know the improvements introduced in any detailed way, Nissan states that its emissions, efficiency and refinement will be improved, getting close even to the driving experience of an electric vehicle.
