Porsche 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition: elegant, sporty, exclusive and perfect

This special edition of the 911 commemorates the brand’s 70th anniversary in Australia, with subtly perfect styling and 510 CV under its bonnet

It has been a full 70 years since Porsche entered the Australian market with two examples of the iconic Porsche 356 that Norman Hamilton imported in Melbourne. Since then, the brand has taken root across generations, passing on to its owners the passion and characteristic DNA of the brand.

To celebrate that historic milestone, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur decided to get creative, building a vehicle that pays homage to those first two Porsche 356 units with right-hand drive, giving the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring a unique character that we find truly sublime.

Honouring its past

This creation is called the Porsche 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition and, as it could not be otherwise, it features an exclusive look headlined by Fish Silver Grey Metallic, the same colour fitted to one of the 356s that arrived in Australia in 1951.

The combination of that metallic colour with its 20- and 21-inch single-lock wheels creates a very elegant and understated look, while still keeping the details that make the GT3 Touring so appealing, such as the louvres on its bonnet, its front bumper, and its diffuser, rear bumper and exhausts.

Inside, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur set out to blend the interior of the historic 356 with that of the modern 911. To do so, the seats are upholstered in a houndstooth-check design combined with dark blue and black leather and white contrast stitching. In addition, its illuminated door sills bearing the name of the special edition add a modern touch with plenty of charm.

More than enough

Under the rear bonnet there is nothing new compared with a conventional 911 GT3 Touring, but we are confident that its turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine with 510 CV and 470 Nm of torque, capable of revving up to 9,000 rpm, will not disappoint anyone.

At this point, we come to the price, and if you want to get your hands on one of these special edition cars, you will have to part with no less than 313,200 euros. A price in keeping with the exclusivity and the product you take home.
