Porsche 911 Sally Special: a tribute to Cars with a charitable purpose

Finally, Porsche and Pixar Animation Studios have unveiled this special edition, named Porsche 911 Sally Special, of which only one unit will exist, to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next Saturday, August 20, 2022, coinciding with Monterey Car Week in California.

The proceeds from the auction will be donated to two charitable organizations: one of them will be Girls Inc., an association that helps girls across 76 centers in the USA and Canada, and the other will go to USA for UNHCR, which supports refugees from Ukraine among other initiatives.

Sebastian Rudolph, Vice President of Communications, Sustainability and Policy at Porsche AG, wished to highlight the intention to bring the spirit of Sally to life in the real world, helping people who urgently need it, in keeping with the character from the film.

Both in the exterior and interior design, the development team of this special edition also involved Jay Ward, Creative Director of Franchises at Pixar Animation Studios, and Bob Pauley, who drew Sally Carrera for the first time.

The design highlights of the 911 Sally Special

Based on a 992-generation 911 Carrera GTS, the Porsche Sally Special has been customized to preserve the features of its protagonist, featuring a hand-applied metallic blue body, or wheels created by the designers of the Style Porsche in Weissach that maintain the look of those of the 996 Turbo, adapted to the 20- and 21-inch dimensions of the 992.

Inside, according to Daniela Milošević, interior designer at Porsche, the 911 Sally Special has been conceived to be used frequently and enjoyed, so it has been fitted with a special houndstooth fabric upholstery in three colors, combined with chalk-colored leather and Speed blue stitching to match its exterior color.

Accompanying this great creation, a watch created by Porsche Design in collaboration with Pixar will also be auctioned, forming the perfect combination with the Sally Special, with a metallic blue dial outline and a chalk-colored strap with Speed blue stitching.
