Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT: the fastest SUV from the German brand arrives

The Porsche Cayenne marked a major change in the brand’s strategy. Until then, all its models were supercars, and the introduction of a modern, efficient SUV was a break from everything that came before. Over time, it has become one of the favourites of Porsche fans. Now the brand has reached another milestone and has presented the fastest version of this model.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT has become the car holding the best lap time at the Nürburgring, beating the Audi RS Q8. The time achieved was 7:38.9, positioning it at the top of the segment for SUVs, off-roaders, vans and pick-ups, with Porsche driver Lars Kern at the wheel.

The fastest Porsche Cayenne in the range

This variant of the Porsche Cayenne has become the fastest and the top of the range. Its 4.0-litre V8 engine, which also powers the base Cayenne Turbo, has been upgraded with 90 extra CV, raising output to 640 CV and peak torque to 850 Nm, 80 Nm more than the other model. This engine is paired with an eight-speed Triptronic S gearbox.

With all these figures, it is no surprise that a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 3.3 seconds is recorded, 0.60 seconds faster than the conventional Turbo. The top speed is set at 300 km/h, another record for the model. To achieve these improvements, the engine was modified with a new crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, timing chain and engine mounts.

The exhaust has also been replaced, with one featuring a titanium finish. In terms of equipment, it is the most complete of all the versions. The floor is lower and sits 17 mm closer to the asphalt. Everything is designed to make the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT one of the favourite models for those who enjoy a powerful and attractive SUV.

Aesthetic changes

To differentiate the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT from the rest of the variants, an exclusive front spoiler has been added. The roof is made of carbon fibre, as are the wings. The 22-inch GT Design alloy wheels offer a powerful, sporty look in line with the car’s character, and the various aerodynamic elements of the bodywork provide better aerodynamic behaviour.

Price in Spain

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT will arrive at Spanish dealerships from September onwards, with a price of 226,277 euros. It can already be reserved, so you can be among the first to enjoy this powerful and elegant version of the Cayenne.
