Porsche Panamera 2014

Porsche has unveiled the 2014 version of the Panamera. The German manufacturer’s only saloon arrives with a facelift, new engines and the option of different bodies, one shorter and one longer. It will reach the market in July of this year with a starting price of €91,828, a figure that corresponds to the diesel version.
The main visual changes focus on a more rounded grille and headlights, something that also happens at the rear of the saloon, where a completely new and understated spoiler is chosen. Whichever version the customer chooses comes as standard with an electrically operated tailgate and xenon headlights. As an option, LED headlights can be fitted.
For the first time in a Porsche, the Panamera offers the option of bodies in different sizes. The long-wheelbase version, called Executive, can only be used with the Panamera S and the Panamera Turbo and gives rear-seat passengers 15 cm more legroom. Its design, in my opinion, is less attractive, making the car too large compared with the original.
ENGINES

The main changes to this new generation of the Porsche Panamera are under the bonnet, where all the engines are changed except for the diesel. The latter keeps a supercharged V6 engine with 250 CV, a power output that can only be sent to the rear wheels. A more powerful version is expected to arrive later.
The petrol Panamera increases its power by 11 CV to reach 310 CV. The Panamera S versions, whether rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, leave behind the 4.8-litre naturally aspirated V8 to make way for a twin-turbocharged V6 capable of delivering up to 420 CV, 20 more than before. Furthermore, its consumption is 18% lower. The Panamera Turbo gains 20 CV in power, reaching an incredible 520 CV.

The great novelty is the replacement of the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid with the new and revolutionary Panamera S E-Hybrid. It has a total of 416 CV, of which 95 CV come from the electric motor, a powertrain capable of moving the saloon on its own for up to 36 km. This distance allows the Panamera to reduce its consumption to an incredible 3.1 litres/100 km.
That consumption is achieved thanks to lithium-ion batteries with an energy capacity of 9.4 kWh. Furthermore, it can be recharged not only by the petrol engine but also from an electrical socket. The estimated charging time is up to four hours. The maximum speed it can reach on electric power alone is 135 km/h.
The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid has a top speed of 270 km/h and is capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.5 seconds.
