Porsche presents a multimedia system for several classic models
The Porsche Classic Communication Management is available for many classic models of the brand, which can integrate it effectively into the dashboard.

The latest Porsche models are equipped with very advanced multimedia systems, something highly valued by the brand’s buyers and users. But owners of older Porsche models can now incorporate the new multimedia and navigation system Porsche Classic Communication Management. This system is offered for some of the older models, although owners of a Porsche 356 or a Carrera GT will not be able to include it.
This system can be found in two versions. The first is designed for models that used a DIN-1 or single DIN radio. This was the norm until the 1990s, when the standard changed. The other size is the PCCM, which can be installed in the space occupied by DIN-2 or double DIN radios. This can be used on the Porsche 996 and the first Boxster, which could already have Porsche Communication Management as an option.

PCCM for cars from the 1970s and 1980s
It is important to know that Porsche models from the 1970s onwards will be able to use the PCCM. The DIN-1 size was the most widely used in the industry. It was used from the 911 F-series through to the 993, the mid-engined 914 and the Transaxle vehicles (924, 944, 968 and 928). It features a 3.5-inch screen, with two rotary knobs and six push buttons for correct operation of the system.

This type of system uses two microphones, one internal and one external. Maps are stored on an SD card, although navigation can also be done with online maps. The directional arrow can be 2D or 3D, at the driver’s choice. It also incorporates the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) function, which reports real-time traffic problems.
Other features include reception of DAB+ digital radio stations, connection with devices via Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay, which can be used with an iPhone 5 or a later model. Sound files can also be played via Bluetooth, from an SD card, or through a USB connection or an auxiliary jack.
The PCCM finish is black and integrates perfectly into the dashboard design of the Porsche classic model.

PCCM Plus
This version is intended for the Boxster 986, launched in 1996, and the 911 of the 996 series, which appeared in 1997. These could already be fitted with a primitive version of the multimedia system. Now they can upgrade this system to the PCCM Plus. The features of this version are updated and controlled via a 7-inch multimedia screen.
In addition to everything in the basic version, this one also includes Android Auto and, apart from the CD changer, can manage all the audio files you want to play. The design also integrates seamlessly into the dashboard of the selected models.
The price of the PCCM is 1,439.89 euros and that of the PCCM Plus 1,606.51 €, to which the cost of labour must be added. It can be purchased at Porsche Centres and also in the online shop of Porsche Classic, and will be installed at Porsche Centres.
