Raptor, the Toyota RAV4 with extra protection
A Japanese company specialising in vehicle conversions has worked on the Toyota RAV4, adding a special high-protection paint layer.

When we hear the word Raptor associated with a vehicle, we immediately think of an Ford F-150, a Ranger or the newly unveiled Ford Bronco. An off-roader ready for anything, designed to be capable of anything. But in this case we travel to Japan and discover a customised model based on a fourth-generation Toyota RAV4 with plenty of personality.
It has been created by a vehicle customisation company called, precisely, Raptor. This company has a specific specialisation: high-protection coating elements. In this case, it has used a urethane coating, a compound that offers extra resistance for the bodywork.

Special paint for the bodywork
The bodywork has been painted with a paint based on this compound. It has a dark grey colour and a rough finish. This paint protects the bodywork from rust and scratches, so the driver can feel more at ease when driving over off-road terrain. It is applied not only to the bodywork but also to plastic elements such as the bumpers, the external mirror covers and the pillars, among other things.

TOYOTA RAV4 RAPTOR
The wildest touch is found in the graphics added to the bodywork, giving it a more eye-catching look. The name Raptor, crossed by a claw mark, appears on the sides and gives it a more aggressive appearance. The set is completed with KMC wheels fitted with Monsta Mud Warrior tyres. The suspension has a hydraulic mechanism that allows the vehicle to be raised by an extra two centimetres.
The unit shown in the photos and videos is fitted with a protective bar and a rear bumper from the aftermarket accessories range of Toyota. Other cars modified with different elements have been seen, such as the one shown at the Tokyo Motor Show. There is no change to the engine of the model, so under the bonnet we find the four-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine producing 170 CV and a maximum torque of 203 Nm, paired with a CVT automatic gearbox.
