Renault Megane RS Trophy Limited Edition: a last farewell from Tokyo
This special edition of the Renault Megane will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show as the end of the popular RS saga
Ahead of the upcoming Tokyo 2023 Motor Show, the French brand has announced that it will present a new special edition of its popular Renault Megane RS, a limited version that also looks set to mark the end of Renault Sport’s performance division.
Its name will be Renault Megane RS Trophy Limited Edition and although the brand itself has decided not to give further details about its design, figures or performance, it is most likely to be very similar to the standard Megane RS Trophy, which received a facelift last year, in 2020.
According to Japanese media outlet Response, this special edition will be available for sale next spring, in 2023, marking the final farewell to the fourth generation of the Renault Megane, a model that has been one of the brand’s most popular since its launch and that gave us the current Megane RS Trophy, which has been with us since its presentation back in 2018.

Exclusivity will be its greatest asset
As for the technical data of the current Megane RS Trophy, on which the new special edition will be based, let’s recall that it features a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine producing 300 CV and a maximum torque of 420 Nm, paired with an automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive.
The end of the RS badge will not only mean that we will no longer have a sporty version of the Megane with this name, but the arrival of Alpine Cars will also mean that the next sporty version of this model will be the responsibility of Alpine, rather than the brand’s performance division Renault Sport as was the case until now.
With all this, the Renault Megane RS Trophy Limited Edition will be on display between 13 and 15 January at the Tokyo Motor Show, where the Renault Lutecia Rally5, the rally version of the Renault Clio, can also be seen.
