SEAT Mo, sustainable electric mobility from the Spanish brand arrives in the form of a motorcycle

The new SEAT headquarters in Barcelona, CASA SEAT, has been unveiled, and on this occasion its new electric mobility project has also been presented.

Some time ago SEAT announced that it was launching its own sustainable urban mobility project. To do so, it was designing two electric vehicles to move freely around the city. They are not electric cars, but a strategy based on two personal vehicles with electric traction. What was a project has now become a reality, presented during the inauguration of CASA SEAT, the brand’s new headquarters in Barcelona.

From this building, located in the centre of Barcelona, SEAT presents its clean mobility plan, made up of the SEAT MÓ eScooter 125 scooter and the SEAT MÓ eKickScooter 65. These two vehicles had already been previewed and can finally be seen. In addition, they will form part of the electric motosharing project in Barcelona, which will launch in July.

A new perspective for SEAT

SEAT has found it hard to enter the electric mobility market, but now it has wanted to move forward quickly and has proposed these two alternatives. In addition, its position in the motosharing market makes this advance in its clean mobility offer look promising.

The SEAT MÓ eScooter 125 was developed together with Silence, a company specialised in the development of electric motorcycles. To make it a practical electric motorcycle for the motosharing service, it has been equipped with a 7 kW motor, although it can deliver a peak of 11 kW. This is equivalent to 14.5 CV and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, with a top speed of 100 km/h. In terms of power, this makes it a cleaner equivalent to a 125 CV motorcycle.

As for range, it reaches 115 kilometres. Renting this scooter can be an interesting way to get around the city without polluting or causing nuisance. In this way, SEAT wants to move closer to clean urban mobility and break with the image of a car manufacturer focused on combustion engines that it has had until now.

The electrification of SEAT’s models arrives with the SEAT Mii Electric and the hybrid versions that have gradually been added to its range. Thus, a new stage opens for the Spanish company, and not only through the inauguration of the new Barcelona space, which may become a space dedicated to this new mobility, but also through the options SEAT offers to stand out from the traditional offer.
