Cayenne Porsche Electric Cars ECO SUV
Some interesting details about the future Porsche Cayenne electric are coming to light
The electric Cayenne will become a reality before the end of the year, and from what we’ve learned so far, everything points to it standing out in some key areas compared with the competition.
Following the Macan, the launch of the second electric SUV from Porsche based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) is getting closer. Although the Stuttgart-based company will not unveil the production version of the future electric Cayenne at the upcoming IAA Mobility, which will be held in the German city of Munich during the first half of next September, we now have some interesting details about what we can expect from its technical specifications.
The new-generation Cayenne will be fully electric, but the current combustion and hybrid version will remain in production with some improvements to meet the demand from customers who are not yet ready to make the leap to electric mobility. Porsche has already shown prototypes with light camouflage of the new Cayenne during road tests and at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed, although so far it has not officially revealed its specifications.

A group of journalists, however, has had the opportunity to test a prototype of this new electric SUV from Porsche. An experience that now allows us to know some interesting data about this new vehicle.
Key technical specifications
The new Cayenne’s battery pack will have a capacity of 113 kWh, of which 108 kWh will be usable, and an important detail is that it will feature an optimized liquid cooling system with two cooling plates instead of just one. In this way, the vehicle will increase its maximum supported charging power from 270 kW to 400 kW, making it possible to increase the charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 15 minutes, or to add 300 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Initially, the electric Cayenne will only be available with the 113 kWh battery pack we mentioned, offering more than 600 km of range in its most efficient version. On the other hand, it is confirmed that all versions will have all-wheel drive and two electric motors, unlike the Macan, which is also available with a single electric motor on the front axle. In this way, even the base model of the Cayenne will exceed 300 kW of power.

The motor integrated into the front axle of the Cayenne will in principle be identical to that of the Macan, but the rear one has been optimized, and the higher-power versions could include improved cooling. In addition, the Cayenne will incorporate a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle, to improve the vehicle’s efficiency.
Versions available at launch
Porsche is expected to market three versions of its second electric SUV. The entry version, probably named Cayenne 4, will deliver a total of 300 kW of power, while the intermediate version, which could be called Cayenne 4S, will increase power to around 500 kW. Additionally, at the top of the range, the Cayenne Turbo, with more than 735 kW of power in Launch Control mode, will make the difference.

On the other hand, with a weight close to three tonnes, we now know that the Cayenne Turbo will be capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in less than three seconds and reaching 200 km/h in less than ten. Additionally, it is worth noting that it will offer some off-road capabilities and the ability to tow a trailer of up to 3.5 tonnes. With dimensions that will come dangerously close to 5 metres in length and a wheelbase of 2.90 metres, the new electric Cayenne will offer more interior space, as well as a front boot with a larger capacity of 90 litres.
The next Cayenne world premiere in November is expected to reveal more details, as well as the price list for the different versions available. We will be keeping an eye on everything that emerges.
