Stellantis SUVs on the right track in the European market
The Stellantis Group sees that its B-segment SUV models are being well received, but wants to be cautious in 2026 and reduce production.

The SUV body style has become the most sought-after by new buyers, replacing the saloons and MPVs that dominated the market a decade ago. All brands have one or more SUVs in their range that try to attract potential buyers. And if we are talking about a group like Stellantis, its various brands offer different models so that buyers can choose without leaving the group.
And it seems to be working quite well, since the group’s different models have managed to carve out a significant place in the European market. The B-segment SUVs are achieving good results and expect that in 2026 these will be repeated or even improved. These models are the Jeep Avenger, the FIAT 600 and the Alfa Romeo Junior.

In first place is the Jeep Avenger, which has recorded a total of 96,797 units sold. A figure that marks considerable success and offers good prospects for 2026. In fact, in 2025 it has seen an increase of 16,000 units sold compared with 2024.
The next model is the FIAT 600, which has sold 55,867 units, among which the hybrid version stands out. On the other hand, it should be noted that the electric version has declined, from 8,489 to 4,922 units, a rather worrying drop. Fortunately, the hybrid version may keep this from being too concerning.

The Alfa Romeo Junior is the group’s other SUV in this segment, although it is aimed at a Premium buyer. This model reached almost 35,000 registrations, which is not bad for the market it targets.
Forecast of falling sales
Despite these optimistic figures, a sales decline is expected soon. So much so that the Tychy plant, in Poland, has announced that it will reduce production from three shifts to two. However, the FIAT 600 is expected to hold up well thanks to the arrival of a petrol-engined version, which will strengthen the model’s offer and may keep it among buyers’ favourites.
As for the Alfa Romeo Junior, its presence in the market allows it to reach an audience that needs a vehicle with higher-level features. That will be its strength in the market in 2026 and is what will allow it to maintain its sales pace. Even so, the parent company prefers to be cautious and reduce production of these models during 2026. We will see what happens and whether this decision can be maintained throughout the year or whether production changes will have to be faced.
