The Audi A6 Sedán is unveiled as the most elegant version of the German range

Not long ago we had the chance to get to know the Audi A6 Avant, but now the German brand has presented the Audi A6 Sedán. The different variants of this Audi range are all very elegant and have a highly distinctive style. But with the Audi A6 Sedán, the brand has achieved an executive version that exudes elegance, luxury and prestige.

Saloons have lost a lot of ground to SUVs, but with models like this one, you can enjoy one of these vehicles to feel comfortable and at home in a large saloon. The Audi A6 is built on the PPC platform, which was initially going to be limited to two models, the Audi A5 and the Q5, but which was ultimately used for other models.

A large executive saloon

The Audi A6 Sedán has a considerable length of 4,990 millimetres and a width of 1,880 millimetres. The wheelbase is 2,927 millimetres, which offers generous interior space. The boot has a capacity of 492 litres, although it can be extended considerably. The rear seats fold down in a 40:20:40 split, so you can gain more space while still keeping seats for one or two passengers in the back.

At the front we find the same look as the A6 Avant, so there are few differences in this respect. The Audi A6 offers an LED light signature, although as an option it can be fitted with MATRIX LED headlights. The light signature can be modified both at the front and at the rear, adding a touch of personalisation.

Looking at the driver assistance systems, it has a good range of the latest features to cover these needs, so the driver can feel at ease behind the wheel, with a comprehensive showcase of ADAS. To keep everything under control, it features the 11.9-inch screen of the Audi Virtual Cockpit and a 14.9-inch multimedia screen. As an option, the front passenger can have an additional 10.8-inch screen to control the navigation system, among other things.

A Head-Up Display can also be fitted, showing plenty of information to keep the vehicle under control. The climate control is four-zone and can be operated from the rear seat controls. It also includes an air purifier with ionizer and particle sensor, a soft-close door system and a panoramic roof with digital light control. A Bang & Olufsen sound system offers up to 20 speakers and advanced features.

As for exterior equipment, wheels between 18 and 21 inches are available. There are several designs depending on the trim level. The chassis can be specified in normal or sport setup, with a 20 mm lower ride height and adaptive air suspension. The latter allows the ride height to be lowered or raised by up to 20 mm as well.

If you opt for a quattro version, four-wheel steering is available, which improves stability through corners and enhances the driving experience. Several driving modes are at the driver’s disposal, making it far more comfortable to get behind the wheel.

Engines

The Audi A6 Sedán is offered with three engine options. The entry version uses the 2.0 FTSI four-cylinder engine, producing 204 CV and 340 Nm of torque. It uses the seven-speed S tronic automatic gearbox and is only available with front-wheel drive. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 8.2 seconds.

This is followed by the version with the 2.0 TDI engine, which also produces 204 CV and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. This one is available with front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive. This version uses mild hybridisation, which helps reduce consumption and emissions.

Finally, there is the version with the 3.0 TFSI V6 engine producing 367 CV and 550 Nm of torque. It features ultra quattro all-wheel drive and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

The starting price of this model, which will go on sale in mid-April, is 63,900 euros.
