The BMW M8 Competition is updated but keeps its 625 CV
The BMW M8 Competition has been updated and is ready to roar on the track. Do you dare to get to know it?

The BMW M8 Competition has just been updated and will reach dealerships sooner than you think. For some time now, the BMW M8 has served as an inspiration and has been one of the flagships of the sports division, BMW M. Now, the sports car, and specifically its Competition version, features a new 12.3-inch central screen and a wider palette of colours.
This German beast houses under its bonnet a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Power is sent to all four wheels through an M Steptronic eight-speed gearbox with Drivelogic. These ingredients make it possible for the sports car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds. It is worth highlighting that the M Driver’s Package can increase its top speed up to 305 km/h.

The BMW M8 Competition, the new beast revs its engines
If you are a good driver, you will know that what matters is not just driving in a straight line, which is why BMW M has equipped its new sports car with Adaptive M suspension that uses information obtained from the road to adjust the dampers in milliseconds. This makes the BMW M8 Competition an agile car both on the track and on the road.
Now, the LED headlights feature M Shadowline inserts that give them a new look. It is also worth noting that the kidney grilles have a glossy black surround. In addition, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW M, the M8 Competition models will be available with a unique option: the classic BMW Motorsport logos on the bonnet, boot and wheels. It will be available from March and will continue throughout 2022.

The new colour options include Skyscraper Grey metallic, Brooklyn Grey metallic and Isle of Man Green, which was seen for the first time on the BMW M3 and BMW M4 models. Exclusively for BMW Individual models are the Tanzanite Blue II metallic and Frozen Grey shades.
If you already found the previous BMW M8 luxurious, wait until you see the interiors of the new generation. The instrument cluster is 12.3 inches. It also features a front display complemented by the new 12.3-inch central information and entertainment screen, which has grown from 10.25 inches. The Munich-based brand has noted that the larger screen makes it easier to operate the seventh-generation iDrive system, which controls navigation, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and the settings for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Do you like exclusivity? Wait until you see the new M Carbon individual seats, made of plastic surfaces reinforced with visible carbon fibre, integrated headrests, and reinforcements on the shoulders, back and thighs. They also offer illuminated M8 badges, electric adjustment and heating. The upholstery options have also increased: the Full Merino Leather package is now also available in Black/Sakhir Orange. BMW has stated that when these leather options are specified, black Alcantara is applied to the dashboard and the upper areas of the door panels.

As you can imagine, the new BMW M8 Competition comes with a long list of standard equipment. Among the numerous items, highlights include 20-inch M Star-spoke wheels, an M carbon roof (coupé and Gran Coupé only), Harman Kardon surround sound, lane change warning and soft-close doors.
Additionally, as an option, you can choose to add a driver assistance package that includes blind-spot detection, lane-keeping assistant, M Carbon Ceramic brakes or even the M Carbon exterior package.
Buyers may opt to add a driver assistance package, which includes blind-spot detection, surround view, side collision prevention, or upgrade to a professional package that offers even more passive safety features. The M Carbon Ceramic brakes, the aforementioned bucket seats and a M Carbon exterior package are also available at an additional cost.
