The Cupra Ateca ABT is already here with 350 CV, courtesy of the German tuner
Cupra and ABT have joined forces as they announced a few weeks ago, a partnership that has resulted in a more radical Ateca with 350 CV of power.

A few days ago, we told you that the German tuner ABT was set to reveal to the world the modifications it had ready for the Cupra Ateca, the first model from the new Spanish brand. As promised, the Germans will use the Essen Motor Show to unveil this radical SUV in full, but the Cupra Ateca has jumped ahead. Thanks to ABT, it has received a series of significant changes to considerably increase its power, with the aim of becoming one of the fastest models in its segment, all accompanied by subtle improvements to its styling.
Let us recall that the Cupra Ateca was created with the intention of establishing a new brand, one that aims to offer a range of models with performance worthy of their name. However, ABT did not want to give the Spanish firm room to offer more radical variants of the SUV, so they decided to take the lead, tweak a few things, and offer a new power range designed to rival vehicles that were far more different from the standard Cupra Ateca.
It is true that the brand is already beginning to give us glimpses through certain cracks of its first in-house production model, something that Antonino Labate also hinted at. However, today the spotlight belongs to the Ateca, a model that has arrived with great potential that ABT has wanted to exploit.

This has also been possible thanks to an enhanced exterior look, accentuated by new wheels with a specific design and measuring 20 inches. At the same time, the suspension has been lowered not only to deliver a sportier appearance, but also to improve cornering with the aim of better managing the new power range with which ABT has equipped the Cupra Ateca.
As standard, the Spanish SUV features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine capable of producing 300 CV of power and 400 Nm of torque. After passing through the hands of the German tuner and undergoing its modifications, the Cupra Ateca is now capable of delivering 350 CV and 440 Nm of torque, figures that translate into a 0-100 km/h time of five seconds and a top speed of 255 km/h.

This is how ABT wants to show us its first advances with Cupra, a brand that not only promises the arrival of more radical models, but also willing to experiment with new modifications from the tuner. Very soon the firm itself will reveal special and sportier variants of the Ateca but, in the meantime, we can enjoy this turbocharged version courtesy of ABT.
