The Madrid Association of Automotive Distributors, AMDA, celebrates its first ten years with the majority of dealerships and service and sales points in Madrid

From its beginnings, the role of the dealership has been to serve as the meeting point between the car user and the manufacturer, a place where not only is a car bought, but which also acts as a point of value and passes information from one to the other. In Madrid, AMDA, the Madrid Association of Automotive Distributors, was founded ten years ago.

At the time of its creation, ten centres came together, and today it counts 80 members and 400 sales and repair points. Together, they establish common policies that help create a setting for dialogue between dealerships and the institutions of the Community of Madrid.

Continuous work

Over these ten years of work, AMDA has become a useful and efficient association. Among its achievements is the creation of recycling protocols in dealerships and their gasification. To that end, agreements have been reached with energy suppliers, which have lowered costs for members. This is what Carlos Bustillo, president of AMDA, has explained.

The association has collaborated in drawing up the Madrid 360 plans, the PIVCEM Plan and PIAM, making it easier for users to access the aid of each of these projects. Through this work, taxi drivers have also benefited, who have been able to find sustainable vehicles with lower polluting emissions and better financing at the member dealerships.

The future of AMDA

We are not talking about the future of AMDA, but about its present. It has incorporated motorcycle dealerships, which are also important for traffic in the city. But they also want to take into account the new needs of Madrid’s users: electric bicycles, VMPs and other ways of getting around the city.

In this way, the association aims to address all these aspects of urban mobility and to offer every tool at its disposal so that it can be more efficient and practical. The dealerships have already established some actions to listen to users and convey their concerns and needs to the institutions.

AMDA wants to offer each user concrete solutions to solve their mobility problems, from easier purchasing to easier payment options, in both the short and medium term. And all of this from an association that already brings together 400 car sales and repair points, has just joined 12 motorcycle dealerships, and expects to add 80 more of these by the end of 2023.
