Dacia Sandero Electric Cars Compact
The electric Dacia Sandero could arrive very soon, to complete the range
The Romanian brand has announced that the electric version of the Dacia Sandero will be ready to hit the market in 2027 or early 2028, with a competitive price

The Dacia Sandero arrived on the market in 2008 and became one of the best-selling cars across Europe. It now has its third generation and remains the best-seller and one of the favourites for its value for money. It is still a combustion-engine car and will remain so until the very end, in 2035. From that year on, the sale of cars with this type of engine will not be permitted in Europe, but until then, it will stay on sale.
However, the Romanian brand that sits under the umbrella of Renault will launch an electric-powertrain version of the Sandero. This has been revealed by Denis Le Vot, CEO of the Romanian company. According to him, this electric version will arrive from 2027, although it could be delayed until 2028.

The electric Sandero would remain on the market until 2034 or even 2035. Its discontinuation would come in parallel with that of the combustion-engine model, and with it, the model would leave the market. What matters about this model is that, like the combustion version, it will have a very competitive price. Something that has helped this model become the brand’s best-seller.
Having a very competitive price will come at the expense of factors such as its range and capabilities. This will make it a model with less range and a less powerful motor than other vehicles of similar size. However, it may be a car suitable for urban and interurban journeys if they are not too demanding.
What we can expect about this new Dacia Sandero is that it will be based on the Renault CMF-B platform, which also underpins the Renault 5 electric. It will not be the only thing it shares with this French model, as sharing components with it is intended to achieve a lower price.
With this move, Dacia will offer an entry-level electric car at a price below that of other brands, allowing many users to access this type of vehicle. Currently, the most basic version of the Dacia Sandero costs 13,040 euros.
