Fiat Grande Panda Electric Cars SUV Urban
The FIAT GRANDE PANDA could get an Abarth performance version within a few months
Stellantis executives are considering launching an Abarth version of the FIAT GRANDE PANDA, an electric city SUV that could take on this performance variant

FIAT’s high-performance versions arrive under the Abarth brand, and quite a few have reached the market so that we can go a step further with the standard models of the Italian brand. The rumour is that the FIAT GRANDE PANDA will soon receive a version under the Abarth badge to showcase the full potential of this model.
FIAT has yet to confirm this, but everything points to this electric city SUV getting its high-performance version within a short time. Although it may seem somewhat strange to see a city car turned into a performance car, several FIAT models of this kind have gone through this treatment and have achieved very appealing results.

However, fitting a 280 CV engine into a structure designed for contained, undemanding urban use is not free of technical and design challenges. To make this work, the entire platform would need to be reworked and the drawbacks of this kind of modification kept under control so they don’t become a problem.
The main obstacle Stellantis may face is the reintroduction of combustion engines in the European Union’s general plans. This could slow the development of this electric model, though not necessarily. Everything depends on the strategy the group decides to pursue from this point on, at a moment that is so confusing for the automotive industry.
Meanwhile, new versions of the GRANDE PANDA
While the possibility of an Abarth variant of the GRANDE PANDA is still being debated, the range has received new versions to strengthen the model’s presence in the market. The Pop version has joined the Icon and La Prima versions and, in the British market, is attracting the attention of buyers.
To round off this expanded offer, the GRANDE PANDA will offer all-terrain capability, making it even more practical and efficient. In this way, the spirit of the Panda 4×4, which played a significant role in the history of the FIAT Panda, will be revived.
As for the Abarth version, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether it will arrive or whether the company ultimately decides to drop it. There is a lot against the possibility of an electric Abarth, but no one doubts it would be a very attractive option for a type of buyer whose tastes have changed in recent years and will change even more in the years ahead.
