The Koenigsegg Agera RS dominates even in black and white

To immortalise the Koenigsegg Agera RS speed record, a Hasselblad camera was used, capturing these stunning black and white images

AGERA-0

A few days ago we had the chance to see the Koenigsegg Agera RS break the production car speed record, reaching 447 km/h in a run along a road in the United States. This record has put it ahead of the Bugatti Chiron. We know this won’t last long and that soon we’ll have the Chiron testing how to beat this figure again, but in the meantime this hypercar is confirmed as the fastest in its class.

To immortalise this event, the Swedish manufacturer spared no expense so that we could experience it as it was. For this they trusted a camera from the Swedish manufacturer Hasselblad. One of the best cameras on the market for this type of event, which in the hands of photographer Toshi Oku captured striking images of this record.

Curiously, the images obtained have been distributed in black and white, instead of colour, as we are used to with this type of photo. No matter. These are spectacular images that bring us everything that is impressive about the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and more, in such spectacular settings.

The speed record broken by this impressive car was achieved thanks to the twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,160 CV. This unit is paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox that helps it reach the speed that has made it the fastest of the moment. And as a setting, a road built across one of those vast, arid American deserts where you can drive for hours without meeting another car.

These five images show the supercar before and after the test. And as a bonus, there is a video of the moments before the record run, so you can see a little more than we saw at the time, and enjoy this supercar that we love so much. Fancy watching it?
