The new supercar, of which 112 units will be built, has gone out for a drive on the road accompanied by two earlier variants of the model.

At the past Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, the brand’s new supercar, was formally presented. Now we finally have the chance to see it in action alongside two of its siblings: the first Countach LP 400 and the last Countach 25th Anniversary ever built. All three have presented a powerful, striking and formidable image.

All three vehicles, the two classics and the new supercar, have been driven showing off their imposing presence, which has led them to perform a magnificent choreography on the track. Take a close look, but remember that if you want to get your hands on one of these cars, you’re too late. 112 units will be produced, but they were all sold at the presentation, so there’s no way to get one.

A tribute to the original Countach

The car sets out to recover the strength and style of the original model. To shape it, they drew on the Lamborghini Aventador, but to move the supercar they looked at the drivetrain of the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. This means it has a 6.5-litre V12 engine and 780 CV.

But this is not the only drive element at play. The model features an electric motor, powered by 48 volts. The motor is located in the gearbox and adds an extra 34 CV to the package, which is used to deliver a momentary peak of power when needed.

This motor is powered by energy produced by a supercapacitor, which provides three times more energy than a lithium-ion battery of similar size.

The number of units produced is not random. It refers to the designation LP112, the working name used during development of the original model. The first units will begin to be delivered during the first quarter of this year, and it is expected that soon all buyers will have in their garage this small piece of the brand’s history.
