The new 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 178 hp for the Lancia Voyager has started going on sale in our country, replacing the previous 163 hp diesel powerplant. This new common-rail engine is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, a downsizing move by the brand that delivers the same performance as the previous engine with better fuel consumption.

The figures provided by Lancia indicate a top speed of 193 km/h, an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.5 seconds and combined-cycle homologation consumption of 7.9 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 207 g/km.

The stability control now includes a standard-fit function specifically designed for towing called Trailer Sway Damping, which corrects any dangerous oscillation when towing a trailer by applying braking pressure to the wheels on opposite ends of the vehicle, helping to counteract skidding and maintain the stability of the vehicle and trailer.

The trim levels will see some changes, as in the three basic levels (Silver, Gold and Platinum) some items will become optional on some and standard on others. For example, on the Silver trim the Bluetooth, rear parking control, trip computer and roof longitudinal bars are now optional. The Gold will have more equipment, including satellite navigation, a 20 GB hard drive and UConnect Phone hands-free with Bluetooth, rear-view camera and xenon headlights as standard. The Platinum level will see no changes compared with the previous model.

Prices for our country will be as follows:

  • 2.8 CRD 178 CV Silver 38,630 euros
  • 2.8 CRD 178 CV Gold 45,385 euros
  • 2.8 CRD 178 CV Platinum 48,326 euros
