The Land Rover Defender gets updated with new styling details, technology and accessories
Land Rover introduces small but numerous changes to the Defender that affect its styling, technology, design and accessories

Despite the shift in concept towards an SUV, the Land Rover Defender remains one of the most capable off-road vehicles you can buy today, combining the pure characteristics of a 4×4 with striking, elegant styling in line with today’s SUVs. It is now updated to keep it current and even more appealing, with changes that apply to the entire range, including the powerful Defender OCTA version.
As I was saying, the changes apply to the whole range, from the 90 body through the 110 up to the 130, including the Defender OCTA. Starting with the exterior, both the front and rear of the Defender receive new bumpers in Silicon Silver or Carpathian Grey Satin on most models, along with a new textured pattern on the inserts found on the bonnet and side grilles, while the grille bar is now offered in gloss black. The front headlights get a new light signature, and the rear lights, with their flush-to-body design, receive a tinted finish for a cleaner look and improved visibility.

Still on the exterior, the Land Rover now offers an expanded body colour palette with the new shades Borasco Grey (a metallic grey inspired by a silver mine) and Woolstone Green (inspired by the waterfall of the same name in the UK). Finally, the wheels: the Land Rover now offers the Defender a new wheel design in 22-inch seven-spoke alloys in Diamond Turned Dark Grey finish, and all models will also get new centre wheel caps in Gloss Black with the Defender badge.

Inside the Land Rover Defender, the centre console has been redesigned with a new hidden sliding section for storing small items, while access to a larger storage area remains just below it. This extra capacity can now optionally be complemented by the Signature Suite extra, which includes removable side pockets with a system that keeps items charged without cables running through the cabin. As part of this redesign, a new 13.1-inch infotainment screen has also been fitted and ergonomically repositioned. We close this section with the option of a third front seat, although it is not available on the Defender OCTA.

On the technology side, the Defender is now available with a new Driver Attention Monitor, as well as the optional Adaptive Terrain Cruise Control for the first time. The latter is an evolution of All Terrain Progress Control, with which the driver can set the desired comfort level when crossing difficult terrain so they can focus on steering, while the system automatically adjusts the speed at all times.
Owners can also optionally choose the Explorer Pack, the Adventure Pack and the Urban Pack, plus new individual accessories such as black versions of the expedition roof rack, the cross bars and the front skid plate, and the rear anti-theft plate is now also offered in a dark finish alongside the existing gloss finish. For the Defender 130 an integrated air compressor can now also be specified for the tyres and, on the Defender OCTA, getting in and out will be easier thanks to the new deployable or fixed side steps, while adventures can be more exciting with the new 4,500 kg winch.

On the Land Rover Defender OCTA specifically, you can now choose the new Borasco Grey and Sargasso Blue body colours, plus a new matt protective film in Patagonia White. Its exterior is accented with a new Textured Graphite finish, giving it a matt surface with high-intensity metallic highlights.
The updated Land Rover Defender is already available at the brand’s dealerships, with prices starting from 80,000 euros in Spain.
