A Porsche 911 Speedster, the last Porsche 911 991, has been auctioned in order to raise money for the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic

The Porsche 911 Speedster, the variant that closed a chapter and the catalogue of the last Porsche 911 991, the seventh generation of the historic car, has finally been auctioned with the aim of donating the amount raised to research and fight the damned coronavirus that is affecting our planet as a pandemic.
The last of the examples of the 991 batch was built at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant and made available to the prestigious car auction house RM Sotheby’s, which, in an online sale, has found a new owner.
This last Porsche 911 991 came with a spectacular chronograph that will delight its owner when they wear and enjoy both exclusive pieces. In fact, the 911 Speedster of the 991 generation.
Besides being the last of its kind, this car is even more special because, besides being a car whose sale has had a charitable tone, it closes a production run limited to just 1,948 units, this being the “1 of 1” because it is the one destined for the battle against Covid-19.
One million dollars against coronavirus
The funds raised at auction for the last Porsche 911 991 have reached one million dollars because, although the Porsche 911 Speedster itself reached half a million dollars with the final virtual hammer blow, Porsche Cars North America decided to donate another five hundred thousand dollars, so the charity auction has raised a staggering one million dollars in the fight against the virus that threatens and scourges humanity.
This money will be handed over to the association United Way Worldwide, which will allocate this sum to the communities most affected by the pandemic, seeking to provide healthcare assistance and other vital resources, such as supplying food banks, in order to have the means to mitigate the devastating effects of the coronavirus.
