Land Cruiser Toyota Todoterrenos
The launch version First Edition of the toughest 4x4 on the market can now be reserved online

The good news for 4×4 enthusiasts is that, although there are few left, brands such as Toyota still offer their Land Cruiser, faithful to the concept of a specialised vehicle designed for use on and, above all, off the tarmac. And right now the Japanese brand is opening the possibility of reserving online the launch First Edition version of the new generation Land Cruiser, which will start being delivered to customers in summer 2024.
The bad news is that its price makes the Land Cruiser First Edition an almost unattainable 4×4: from €85,950, no small sum. Of course, its main rivals are no slouches. And there aren’t many of them, you can almost count them on one hand. A Land Rover Defender, for example, starts from €80,050. And to get into a Jeep Grand Cherokee you have to part with €83,250. The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, another of the legendary 4x4s, plays in a different league: the G 400 d version costs more than €140,000.
The latest technology to return to its roots
Toyota “goes back” 70 years to return to the origins of that model, which quickly earned a well-deserved reputation as a benchmark vehicle for overcoming the most difficult conditions, that Toyota BJ, the Land Cruiser’s predecessor. Only now it draws on the most advanced technology to keep its new 4×4 a reference off the tarmac.

The new generation of the Land Cruiser is built on the global GA-F platform of Toyota, improving torsional rigidity by up to 30% over the previous model. Together with suspensions with 10% more travel and electric power steering -for the first time on the Land Cruiser-, it ensures a good driving feel and high ride comfort both on the road and off-road. And when it’s time to leave the tarmac, the Multi-Terrain system comes into play, adapting the vehicle’s various systems to the terrain conditions, the locking of the centre and rear differentials, and the 360-degree panoramic monitor to help overcome difficult situations without having to leave the cabin to check the terrain.
Under the bonnet, the new Land Cruiser continues to rely on a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine with 204 CV, coupled to a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. In 2025 an electrified variant with 48-volt mild hybridisation will also be offered, which was recently announced for the Toyota Hilux as well.
Limited edition First Edition: only 250 units
The launch First Edition version is limited to 250 units, reserved exclusively for customers who make their reservation online during the pre-sale period. The price is €85,950, and through the Toyota Easy Plus financing programme it can be accessed with monthly instalments from €595, including 4 years of maintenance and a 4-year warranty.

In addition to the fully digital instrument cluster and the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with a 12.3-inch screen, heated and ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger and the latest version of the Toyota Safety Sense assistance package, the First Edition adds the front anti-roll bar disconnect system -which increases suspension travel by a further 10%-, 18-inch wheels, round LED front light clusters, exclusive two-tone body colours (available in yellow or blue) and “First Edition” badges.
Also standard on this special launch edition are the sunroof, leather upholstery, head-up display on the windscreen, digital interior rear-view mirror, a premium JBL audio system with 14 speakers, the digital key and 4 years of remote services available through the MyToyota app.
