The McLaren 765LT Spider gains performance and presence thanks to Novitec

Novitec presents its new work on a highly exclusive vehicle such as the McLaren 765LT Spider, increasing its power and changing its styling

McLaren presented almost a year ago the 765LT Spider, the convertible version of its most radical sports car, a model that arrived with “Long Tail” as its suffix in an exercise to demonstrate that we are facing a radical vehicle. It keeps the same characteristics as the hardtop version and became a collector’s piece, not least because it has been produced in a limited run of 765 units, as its name indicates.

A vehicle as special as the McLaren 765LT Spider may not be the most suitable option for modification, but given that it is a tuner like Novitec behind the work, the result will undoubtedly be satisfying. And although it is a highly technological and carefully engineered vehicle, Novitec has taken charge of improving its aerodynamic efficiency, something essential when the German tuner has also turned its attention to the engine, which now sees its power increased.

But let’s start with the exterior, the area that receives the largest number of improvements thanks to the fitted parts, all of them in carbon fibre. In this way we find a front end fitted with a newly designed bonnet, with prominent air outlets and a central rib that appears to divide them, plus a front spoiler that also helps direct airflow better, as do the side extremities and the elaborate rear diffuser together with the new rear spoiler.

This carbon fibre visual package is perfectly complemented by the forged alloy wheels signed by Vossen, as is customary with Novitec, with a seven-double-spoke design and a size of 20 inches for the front axle and 21 inches for the rear axle, and available in 72 different colour finishes. In addition, from this view we can also appreciate the 20 mm by which the height is reduced, achieved thanks to the new springs fitted.

The interior sees no major changes, except that Novitec lets the customer give free rein to their imagination and personalise it to their taste with the wide selection of leathers and colours available. What changes is the engine, a 3,800 cc twin-turbo V8 that in standard form produces 765 CV, which can be increased in three stages according to preference, starting at 817 CV, moving through 840 CV and reaching the 855 CV that Novitec offers.
