Mercedes Electric Cars Furgonetas Salón de Barcelona
The Mercedes EQV goes out for a walk around Barcelona and shows how it handles the city
Mercedes has put the new Mercedes EQV, the 100% electric passenger van, to the test at the port of Barcelona ahead of its production

A few months ago we had the chance to see the new all-electric version of the Mercedes Clase V. A vehicle designed for passenger transport with every comfort possible and the characteristics of this Mercedes model, but built for electric mobility in the city. Now, that Mercedes EQV that was presented at the Geneva Salon has gone out for a walk, and it was in Barcelona that it was able to experience the pulse of the city.
With this outing, Mercedes wants to demonstrate that this vehicle is much more than a show car. Production of the fully electric Mercedes EQV will begin shortly, and we will be able to see the definitive version at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. With this drive through the port of Barcelona, the Mercedes EQV shows that the changes to the concept car presented will be minimal.

The new mobility is forcing companies to keep experimenting with electric motors, and with this passenger vehicle, Mercedes wants to offer practical solutions for driving around cities, with an interior finish that allows comfortable and safe travel. Mercedes is advertising this model as “the all-electric Premium MPV“, so we can get an idea of what this passenger vehicle hides inside.

MERCEDES EQV IN BARCELONA
As for the capabilities of this concept model, its range is 400 kilometres, which makes it quite attractive for users. That figure is more than enough to provide an adequate service around the city or even a shuttle service from the city centre to the airport, for example.
It is not only the range of the Mercedes EQV; the power also makes this model one to consider. The 100 kWh lithium-ion battery feeds a motor located on the front axle that will deliver a power of 150 kW, equivalent to 204 CV. The top speed of 160 km/h also favours using the Mercedes EQV on the motorway.
The changes are expected to be minimal, and buyers of this electric version of the Mercedes Clase V will be able to enjoy the styling of this van designed for families and passenger transport services, with all the design and quality guarantees it offers. The configuration of the front grille and headlights, together with an interior designed to please and well equipped with the latest driver assistance technology, are proof of this. For now, the Mercedes EQV ticks the boxes and we like it. Will it be the same one that comes off the production line?
