The MG 4X uses a semi-solid-state battery and promises more range
The MG 4X is an electric SUV that belongs to the MG 4 range and features a semi-solid-state battery that delivers high range.

The MG 4 range is growing, as a new version has just been presented, and it has something that makes it very special. Its name already tells us that it is an SUV designed to offer more power. But what sets it apart from other models is that it uses a semi-solid-state battery.
This means its battery uses only 5% liquid electrolyte. This composition improves thermal stability and helps it withstand extreme cold and heat better. The battery has a capacity of 53.95 kWh, which is not very large, but allows the car to cover around 510 kilometres on a single charge.

No details on the powertrain
The brand has not released further details about the powertrain of the MG 4X, so its final specifications are unknown. It is not known whether it will have one or two motors or what power it will deliver. What is known, however, is that the E3 technology architecture that already underpins the MG 4 will also be present in this variant.

It measures 4,395 millimetres in length, 1,842 millimetres in width and 1,551 millimetres in height. The wheelbase is 2,750 millimetres and its kerb weight is 1,485 kg. Visually, it is very similar to the MG 4, although it has its own features that give it a different style.
At the front there are large air intakes and a grille located at the bottom. The triangular headlights are complemented by a thin light bar that gives the car’s light signature more character. The first images show black wing mirrors and a large glass panoramic roof. The rear lights have a sharp look, similar to those seen on the MG S5, the range that sits above this MG 4.
There are no images of the MG 4X interior, so we must imagine it will be very similar to that of the hatchback. It may use the same central information and entertainment screen designed by Oppo. The physical buttons placed on the steering wheel and centre console mean the design will not be minimalist.
