The new Audi A1 Sportback goes on sale in the Spanish market
The new Audi A1 Sportback kicks off its sales in Spain, backed by a special launch edition called Epic Edition

Announced this past summer, the Audi A1 was thoroughly renewed, both inside and out, and also in terms of technological equipment, with the latest market innovations to keep it as a rising model. Still, it won’t have an easy time, since its rival is at home, with iconic standard-bearers of this segment such as the Volkswagen Polo or the SEAT Ibiza.
With production of the new Audi A1 already under way since last month in Martorell, at the same facilities where the SEAT Ibiza is also built, the small German compact is ready to start sales in our country. For now, as is usual with a new launch, the options are limited, and we will have to wait a few weeks for the range to gradually be completed.
A variety of engines arriving gradually
Sales of the new Audi A1 Sportback will begin with the three-cylinder 1.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, which delivers 116 CV and accelerates the A1 from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds with the six-speed manual gearbox (9.4 with the S Tronic transmission). With this engine, according to the NEDC and WLTP cycles, the new A1 Sportback has a homologated consumption of 4.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 108 g/km.

A few weeks after sales begin, the new Audi A1 Sportback will expand its engine offering. Another 1.0 TFSI three-cylinder will also arrive, this time with 95 CV, paired only with the six-speed manual gearbox; while the four-cylinder engines to follow are the 1.5 TFSI and the 2.0 TFSI, with 150 CV and 200 CV respectively. The 2.0 TFSI can only be paired with the six-speed S Tronic automatic gearbox.
Three trim levels and a limited launch edition
The new Audi A1 Sportback stands out for its already attractive standard equipment in the base version, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, leather multifunction steering wheel, Audi pre sense front, lane departure warning, speed limiter, MMI radio system with Bluetooth and USB charging port, and 15-inch alloy wheels. On this base we can choose from the three trim levels the brand offers:
- Advanced: 16-inch alloy wheels, MMI plus radio with 8.8-inch touchscreen, Audi smartphone interface, remote services, Audi connect safety & service package and contrast-colour roof.

- S Line: The previous equipment plus the S Line exterior package, the option of sport suspension at no extra cost, S line roof spoiler, aluminium trim and 17-inch wheels.
- Black Line: The previous equipment plus black detailing, darkened rear glass, black Mitos exterior mirrors and 17-inch wheels signed by Audi Sport.
Alongside the start of sales, a limited launch edition called Epic Edition will also be offered. Its equipment highlights the sportiest side of the Audi A1 Sportback, with elements such as darkened LED headlights and rear lights, Audi rings and badges in gloss black, 18-inch Audi Sport wheels in three designs that vary depending on the exterior colour, S line exterior trim, black style pack, black contrast roof, and exterior mirrors and sill trims in combination with the wheel colour.
Wide optional equipment reinforced by two packs
In terms of optional equipment, the Audi A1 Sportback brings together the most interesting features in two packs. First, the Vision pack, which includes LED headlights, LED rear lights with dynamic indicators, heated exterior mirrors and Audi rear parking system, all from 1,295 euros. Second, the Tech pack, which includes dual-zone climate control, Audi virtual cockpit instrumentation, three-spoke leather multifunction plus sports steering wheel, cruise control and pre-installation for the optional MMI Navigation plus system with a 10.1-inch display, all from 1,395 euros.

Naturally, this whole range can be completed with a wide list of optional extras, among which we can highlight sports front seats, comfort key, Dynamic pack, Audi sound system and Bang & Olufsen premium sound with 3D sound, Audi pre sense basic, Audi parking system plus or adaptive speed assistant, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
