The new Audi Q8 has already been modified: up to 330 CV for the 50 TDI thanks to ABT

The Audi Q8 has been on the market for just over a month, but ABT has already managed to extract more power and offer a more aggressive and sporty look for the SUV.

The aftermarket sector is becoming increasingly popular among car enthusiasts, who are determined to apply a remarkable aesthetic and mechanical change to their machine. ABT, one of the leading pioneers in the world of modifications, wanted to meet the demand of its customers who have just purchased a Audi Q8 as soon as possible. The German SUV has been the latest to join the family of the four rings and, although it has been on the market for just over a month, the tuner has already managed to extract more power from its engine and develop new parts to enhance its look.

As we reported last month, the new Audi Q8 is presented as a very well-balanced SUV, capable of combining comfort and sportiness without hesitation, but ABT wanted to go further. With only the 50 TDI engine available for now, the German tuner has focused all its efforts on this powertrain, aiming to squeeze out every last ounce of power.

Aesthetically we don’t find major changes compared to a standard Audi Q8, but ABT has stated that it is already developing a new aerodynamic kit to enhance the sporty spirit of the German SUV. On the one hand, we can see numerous elements finished entirely in black, such as the grille singleframe, which is accompanied by new 22-inch wheels and an exclusive design.

In this way, ABT has managed to offer a look more in keeping with the new power range reached by the Audi Q8, which lets us realise that this is not an ordinary vehicle. With this premise, the German tuner wants to bring us closer, in a faithful and subtle way, to the future SQ8 and RSQ8 variants that will be launched on the new SUV from Audi, and which promise sensational performance.

But, in the meantime, the tuner offers us its vision of a hypothetical SQ8 with a diesel heart. Under the bonnet of the modified SUV, we find the same 3.0-litre V6 engine that powers the Q8 50 TDI it is based on, which produces 286 CV and 600 Nm of torque. However, ABT has managed to extract 330 CV and 650 Nm of torque, figures that will further accentuate the sporty character the new Q8 offers as standard.

This is ABT’s way of saying that we will very soon see more significant and noticeable modifications for the Audi Q8, a model that is about to receive two new engine options. With this premise, the most impatient customers of the new SUV with the four rings will be able to enjoy more radical performance, and avoid the tedious wait until the arrival of the more powerful variants.
