New Audi TTS Roadster

The Audi TTS Roadster, the sportiest version of the two-seater convertible from the Ingolstadt brand, has arrived on the Spanish market. It retains the essence of its predecessors, but the reinterpretation carried out by the designers has resulted in a model complemented by innovative components based on the transverse modular platform (MQB).

Materials such as high-strength steel have been used to reinforce the front section and the floor of the cabin, while the passenger compartment and all the exterior panels are made of aluminium. The soft top also uses lightweight materials, as its construction is made of parts in aluminium, magnesium, steel and plastic materials with a total weight of 39 kilograms, including the entire mechanism. Its operation is electric and it can be opened and closed, even while driving at speeds below 50 km/h, in just 10 seconds. This achieves greater rigidity with the minimum possible weight without compromising the safety of the vehicle’s occupants.

The engine fitted to the new Audi two-seater Roadster is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder TFSI which produces 310 CV. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with the S tronic gearbox, and an average consumption of 6.9 l/100 km. The top speed of 250 km/h is electronically limited. It is equipped with permanent quattro all-wheel drive. There is the option to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and the S tronic dual-clutch gearbox, also with six gears.

One of the most significant innovations in the Audi TTS Roadster is the Audi virtual cockpit. Its particularity is that the instrument cluster is fully digital with the capacity to display detailed representations and multiple graphic possibilities, replacing the analogue instruments and the MMI screen found in previous models. Two different modes can be displayed on the 12.3-inch monitor. The classic view is dominated by the speedometer and the rev counter, while in infotainment mode navigation maps, among other information, take on greater importance. In the Audi TTS Roadster there is also the possibility of displaying a third mode, which is particularly sporty, and where the rev counter takes on special prominence.

The standard equipment is very complete in itself. On the exterior, elements such as the 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights and rear lights with LED technology stand out. The interior features S sport seats, the multifunction sport steering wheel, the Audi sound system with nine speakers, leather package and the Audi drive select driving system, among other things. The Audi magnetic drive suspension with variable damping and the comfort key are also available.
